The Jewish Federation of Greater New Haven, with the generous support of a LiveSecure grant through the Jewish Federations of North America, has launched a three (3) year phased initiative to provide Stop the Bleed kits to each and every Jewish community classroom in the Greater New Haven area. In addition, through its partnership with the Secure Community Network (SCN), the Jewish Federation of Greater New Haven will make available lifesaving Stop the Bleed training to each Jewish community organization who wishes to receive it.
When tragedy strikes anywhere in our community, the willingness and capability of everyday citizens to take action instead of being passive bystanders can mean the difference between life or death. With very little training and equipment, individuals closest to the scene of an accident or mass casualty situation can control bleeding until first responders arrive to take over treatment.
Just like training programs and public awareness campaigns regarding cardiopulmonary resuscitation and the Heimlich Maneuver have helped save countless lives over the past few decades, a community plan of action regarding how to maximize survivability for victims of a mass casualty situation has the potential to increase the resilience and readiness of our community to the threats that now confront us.
Please join us for a training session to ensure your personnel know precisely how to use these lifesaving kits in an emergency.
We encourage the entire community (all members, staff and volunteers) to sign up for this life saving training.
